PERCEPCIÓN Y FACTIBILIDAD DE LA INTEGRACIÓN DE LA IA EN EL SISTEMA EDUCATIVO DE CUENCA

Abstract

Este estudio examina la percepción y la factibilidad técnica, pedagógica y social de la integración de la inteligencia artificial (IA) en el sistema educativo ecuatoriano, con énfasis en la ciudad de Cuenca. Mediante un enfoque mixto, que combina métodos cualitativos y cuantitativos, se realizaron 3500 encuestas complementadas con entrevistas a docentes e investigadores. Los resultados muestran una alta aceptación hacia el uso de la IA en la educación, con un promedio del 84.5%; sin embargo, también reflejan que uno de los desafíos más relevantes es la limitada infraestructura tecnológica, evidenciada con un promedio del 57.6%, particularmente en instituciones públicas y fiscomisionales. El estudio concluye que una implementación gradual de la IA, acompañada de capacitación docente, puede transformar favorablemente el sistema educativo, preparando a estudiantes y docentes para un entorno digital en continua evolución.

Abstract
This study examines the perception and the technical, pedagogical, and social feasibility of integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into the Ecuadorian educational system, with a focus on the city of Cuenca. Using a mixed-methods approach that combines qualitative and quantitative techniques, 3,500 surveys were conducted, complemented by interviews with teachers and researchers. The results
show a high level of acceptance toward the use of AI in education, with an average of 84.5%; however, they also highlight that one of the most significant challenges is the limited technological infrastructure, with an average of 57.6%, particularly in public and
semi-private institutions. The study concludes that a gradual implementation of AI, accompanied by teacher training, can positively transform the educational system, preparing students and educators for an ever-evolving digital environment.
