PAPEL DEL FMI EN LAS POLÍTICAS ECONÓMICAS: CASO ECUADOR, ARGENTINA Y COLOMBIA

La presente revisión bibliográfica tiene como propósito identificar las consecuencias de la aplicación de políticas económicas recomendadas por el Fondo Monetario Internacional a los gobiernos de América Latina, con la finalidad de afrontar las crisis
y fomentar el crecimiento económico en el periodo desde 1980 al 2020. Para ello, se indagó sistemáticamente en buscadores especializados como Google Académico, Scopus, Redalyc, Scielo y Dialnet que contenían artículos con revisión de pares y alto
impacto sobre temas como el rol del Fondo, sus programas de ajuste, de reforma estructural y privatizaciones. Se encontró que las consecuencias de la intervención del FMI en los países de estudio señalan una ineficacia de las políticas implementadas, ya
que no se ha conseguido el desarrollo ni el crecimiento económico esperado, sino que, por el contrario, se observa un incremento en la incertidumbre política, aumento en los índices de desigualdad de ingresos, pobreza y conflictos sociales.

ABSTRACT
The purpose of this paper review was to identify the consequences of the application of economic policies recommended by the International Monetary Fund to governments in Latin America, to face crises and promote economic growth in the period from 1980 to 2020. For this, specialized search engines such as Google Scholar, Scopus, Redalyc, Scielo, and Dialnet were systematically searched for high-impact, peer-reviewed articles on topics such as the role of the Fund, its adjustment programs, structural reform, and privatizations. It was found that the consequences of the IMF intervention in the study countries indicate an ineffectiveness of the implemented policies, since the expected development or economic growth has not been achieved, and on the contrary, an increase in political uncertainty is observed., increase in the indices of income inequality, poverty and social conflicts.
