El objetivo del estudio fue analizar el riesgo de liquidez en las cooperativas de ahorro y crédito ecuatorianas del periodo 2016 – 2020 de los segmentos uno, dos y tres; para este efecto, en primer momento se utilizó la metodología propuesta por la Superintendencia de Economía Popular y Solidaria, que permite obtener los ratios de liquidez estructural; posterior aquello se empleó un análisis factorial exploratorio, para determinar las variables más influyentes en el análisis de liquidez. Los hallazgos principales permitieron identificar dos grupos de factores, categorizados como: “Cuentas de primera línea de mayor liquidez y exigibilidad” y “Cuentas de primera línea de menor liquidez y exigibilidad”, con el fin de orientar propuestas para mitigar los altos niveles de riesgo.<br /><br />Palabras clave: análisis factorial, COAC, liquidez, riesgo, SEPS.</p> <p><strong>Abstract.</strong><br /><br />The control of liquidity risk in financial institutions is of the utmost importance because it allows us to be prepared for eventualities such as loss of clients, decrease in deposits, financial crises, among others. The objective of the study was to analyze the liquidity risk in the Ecuadorian savings and credit cooperatives of the 2016-2020 period; of segments one, two, and three, for this purpose, at first, the methodology proposed by the Superintendency of Popular and Solidarity Economy was used, which allows obtaining the structural liquidity ratios; later, an exploratory factor analysis was used to determine the most influential variables in the liquidity analysis.
